Sonoma

We acquired this lovely girl from LaNora Madden in August 2004. We had never owned a Keeshond before, much less a Show Dog; but decided to give it a whirl. LaNora's theme for the litter was Nascar and she had given this 5th born girl the "call name", Sonoma, for the 5th race of the season's circuit. We honored the theme by registering her with the name VosDal's Racin' for Checkers; (ie. the black & white checkered flag). VosDal, LaNora's kennel name, Dutch for Valley of the foxes; is the preface, and we kept the call name. To us, Sonoma signified the Valley of the Moon, and a prime growing area for its grapes which are used in the production of some of the finest wines produced in America. With the help of LaNora & others, Sonoma finished her AKC championship and went on to produce one litter to date.

She is a beautiful Silver and Black girl, with moderate bone, proportion, substance and movement; properly coated for a bitch and with a wonderfully endearing expression. She is a dream to live with: loves everyone, gets along with all our pets, communicates her needs but is not demanding, knows how to cock her head & turn on the charm to get what she wants and is the perfect combination of princess & tomboy-the Cindarella of her castle. Her favorite spot is the swinging daybed in the sunroom where she consumes one of her favorite treats-ice cubes! She will stand staring at the freezer 'til someone gives her some, then run with her treasure to that favorite spot.
